Terms of Use

Effective date: July 3, 2026  ·  Last updated: July 4, 2026

These Terms apply when you use Grocery Map. By downloading or using the app, you accept them. Section 12 explains how disputes are handled and gives you a 30-day window to opt out of arbitration.

1. Your license to use the app

You have a personal, non-commercial license to use Grocery Map on any Apple device you own or control, subject to the App Store Terms of Service. You do not own the app.

You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, resell, or sublicense the app, and you may not remove any notices in it.

2. Who can use the app

You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under the age of majority where you live, use the app only with a parent or guardian's consent.

3. Subscriptions and billing

Grocery Map offers an optional auto-renewing subscription, Grocery Map Pro, on a monthly or annual basis.

If a free trial is offered, any unused portion is forfeited when a paid subscription begins. Free-trial eligibility is set by Apple.

Apple handles all purchases and refunds. Refund requests go to reportaproblem.apple.com.

The free tier is available without a subscription. Its features may change over time.

4. Community content and conduct

If you publish a store layout and display name to the Community, that content is public. You keep ownership of it, and you give Grocery Map and other users a worldwide, royalty-free license to display and distribute it inside the app for the purpose of running the Community.

You are responsible for what you publish. You may not publish anything unlawful, harassing, threatening, defamatory, obscene, hateful, sexually explicit, infringing, deceptive, or otherwise objectionable.

To keep the Community safe, Grocery Map:

5. Acceptable use

Do not use the app to break the law, interfere with the app or iCloud, gain unauthorized access to anyone's data, scrape or automate the app, impersonate anyone, or infringe someone else's rights.

6. Intellectual property

Grocery Map — including its design, code, graphics, and icons — is owned by Grocery Map and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership to you.

Store names and built-in layouts referenced in the app (for example, Walmart, Costco, Publix, Target) are trademarks of their respective owners. Grocery Map is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of these retailers. Built-in layouts are provided for navigational convenience and may not reflect any actual store's current layout.

7. Apple and third-party services

Grocery Map uses Apple services, including iCloud, CloudKit, Sign in with Apple, Reminders, Photos, and Maps. Your use of those services is also governed by Apple's own terms and privacy policy.

These Terms are between you and Grocery Map, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to support or maintain the app. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any; Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple is not responsible for claims relating to the app, product liability claims, or third-party intellectual property claims. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them.

You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist-supporting" country, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties. You agree to comply with all applicable export-control and sanctions laws when using the app.

8. Warranty disclaimer

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. GROCERY MAP DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT STORE LAYOUTS AND ROUTES WILL BE ACCURATE OR CURRENT. USE OF THE APP IS AT YOUR OWN RISK.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GROCERY MAP IS NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THE APP. TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR FIVE U.S. DOLLARS ($5.00). SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS, SO PARTS OF THIS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold Grocery Map harmless from any claims, damages, liabilities, and reasonable legal fees arising out of your content, your use of the app, or your breach of these Terms.

11. Termination

These Terms apply for as long as you use the app. Grocery Map may suspend or terminate your access to the Community or the app if you break these Terms. You may stop using the app and delete it at any time. Sections covering intellectual property, disclaimers, limits on liability, indemnification, and governing law survive termination.

12. Dispute resolution

If you have an issue, contact grocerymap.feedback@gmail.com first and allow 30 days to resolve it informally. Most subscription issues are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

If informal resolution fails, you and Grocery Map agree that any dispute will be resolved through binding individual arbitration under the Consumer Arbitration Rules of a nationally recognized arbitration provider. The Federal Arbitration Act governs this section.

Claims may only be brought on an individual basis, not as part of a class or representative proceeding. Either of you may bring an individual claim in small-claims court instead of arbitration.

You may opt out of arbitration within 30 days of first accepting these Terms by emailing grocerymap.feedback@gmail.com with the subject "Arbitration Opt-Out" and your name. Opting out does not affect any other part of these Terms.

Where required by law or the arbitration provider's consumer rules, Grocery Map will pay the filing and administrative fees. Each side otherwise pays its own attorneys' fees, unless a statute or the arbitrator provides otherwise. If this section is unenforceable, disputes will be resolved in the courts described in Section 14, but the individual-claims rule remains in effect to the fullest extent permitted by law. This section survives termination.

13. Time limit for claims

To the fullest extent permitted by law, any claim relating to the app or these Terms must be filed within one year of the event giving rise to it.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, except where preempted by consumer laws of your place of residence. Any dispute not subject to Section 12 will be handled in the state or federal courts of California, and you consent to their jurisdiction, unless local law gives you the right to sue where you live.

15. Changes

These Terms may be updated from time to time. If a change is material, the effective date will be updated and, where appropriate, you will be asked to review and re-accept them in the app. Continued use after a change means you accept it.

16. Entire agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Apple's terms, are the entire agreement between you and Grocery Map about the app. If any part is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
